Membership

Macedon Historical Society is a 501(c3) nonprofit organization. The fiscal year for MHS is May 1-April 30.

Board meetings are every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm.  These meetings are to conduct the business portion of the Historical Society. All members/stakeholders are welcome to attend.

Community Chat series are meetings that are held on the 2nd Tuesdays of the months of February, May, August and November at 6:30pm - after the Board Meetings. Refreshments are provided.

A local family/or group is invited to attend and share their story of Macedon. These chats spin off in all directions. A lot of fun and the discussions are priceless. These chats are documented and posted on the website.

Meetings are conducted at the Historic Macedon Academy at 1185 Macedon Center Road, Macedon, NY 14502 April - November.  Meetings for February and March are held at the Macedon Center Meetinghouse at 1208 Macedon Center Road, Macedon, NY 14502 (there are NO meetings December or January).

As a Member of the Macedon Historical Society, you become a voting member. Voting members have a voice in the fundamental task of how MHS preserves the history of the Macedon Community.
The Macedon Historical Society is the caretaker of the history of Macedon. A member also has a voice in historical projects around the community. As a member you have the use of the Macedon Center Meetinghouse for a reduced fee. Have your family parties, organize a craft fair or a fundraiser of your choice.

Your membership dues are used as follows:

  • to pay the monthly responsibilities of maintaining the Academy, such as utilities, district taxes and insurance.
  • to preserve the heritage of our community through the upkeep of the materials we have at the Academy. This includes supplies needed to preserve and archive the materials.
  • to promote events, purchase office supplies, archival paper, boxes, displays, cleaning supplies and postage.

Your membership provides the MHS to continue the work of providing a museum to preserve the history of the Macedon Community.

Please accept the responsibility with us and become a member. MHS is looking for members,active or silent supporters.

    • DUAL/FAMILY (children under 16) Annual - $30

After clicking the Donate Now button below please click the $25 button for single membership then Donate Now, or for Dual or Family Membership please click the Other button and type $30 into the box, then Donate Now.
